It is used to decorate the surfaces of ceramics, chinaware, porcelain and tiles etc. and it is made with Frits and Inorganic Pigments.Onglaze colors are developed by low heat hardening method. Color the surface of fired vessel and apply comparatively low heat, then the colors will be created. At this time, Frits react with glaze to lock the colors in the place.
It is fused around Frits and Glaze’s Softening Point and therefore we think the higher firing temperature, the greater durability of colors it gets.But when you think of dishes, there is always washing so, the mechanical durability is very important for such as friction, abrasion and resistance to alkali that detergent contains. Presently, we are manufacturing low metal release colors and lead & Cadmium free colors and there is 3000, 23000 series colors for the low metal release onglaze colors and 6000, 26000 series of colors for lead & cadmium free onglaze colors.

Cd ingredient colors: There are 5 different colors like 23101, 23102, 23103, 23201, 23401 and it can be mixed with one and others freely.
But, when mix with normal ingredient colors, prior test is necessary

Normal ingredient colors: When mixing Iron red 23104 and Cobalt blue 23505 with other general ingredient colors, the prior test is necessary. Mixing white 23301 is stable to mix with cd ingredient colors and normal ingredient colors and it maintains the color bright and clear. It is stable to mix large amount.
Opaque white 23303 doesn’t discolor by normal colors such Co-blue, or turning yellowish on the high heat.
However, when printing cd ingredient colors on top of 23303 color, you need to print it thick and cd ingredient colors can be discolored/ fade when you use over 830℃ of firing.

Gold line colors: There is 22001 and 23002 etc. of pink classified colors and 23506 which is purple blue color.

23000 series contains very small amount of heavy metal such as Pd and Cd etc. but with chemical resistant ability, only small amount of leads are detected.Specially, you can limit detection of heavy metal and increase the luster when you use cover coating flux 23901.

23000 series satisfies following tests
▷Heavy metal detection test (ASTM C738-94 & AOAC 15th.Ed. Section 937.32) At 22±2℃, depositing sample plate to 4% of acetic acid for 24 hours before measure.
▷Detergent resistant test: There must be no marks after depositing sample plate to 0.5% Calgonite Solution of 77℃ for 24 hours.

6000, 26000 series are manufactured using lead & cadmium free ingredients so it is environment friendly, pollution free onglaze colors. However, very small amount of Pb or Cd etc. can be mixed in ingredient during the processing procedures.
Lead & Cadmium free colors are divided and manufactured as 6000 series and 26000 series for convenience and it is applied to vessel’s most suitable condition.

6000, 26000 series are environment friendly colors that contains no pollutable ingredients.  However, detected small amount of heavy metals are approved values as the environment impurity. 6000, 26000 satisfies the FDA and the article 65 of California U.S.A
